Social Listening

For my blog post today I decided to discuss the public relations and the social media presence of the brand Nike. I chose and am interested in Nike because one, I like cool sneakers, but two because Nike is a massive company that has subtle influence in our fashion and day to day lives, however they have not been the most ethical in some scenarios, thus the public opinion on Nike differs from person to person. Nikes value proposition is that they will market to you affordable sportswear and accessories equipped with branding and other quirks. People will often buy an item strictly because of the brand referencing a friend on my Facebook who quote “I only buy Nikes, I just can’t get behind the ugly 3-striped Adidas, Nikeboys 4L”, which is an example of the brand strength that Nike has acquired. While surveying Twitter trending, an individual said “Nike’s were more comfortable when they were made in Sweatshops” which is definitely an example of somebody referencing a very controver...

Marketing in the News

My family and friends live in various states across the U.S. and speaking over the phone is only so fulfilling. I often find breaks in my schedule where I could fly out and visit my friends and family, but then comes the next issue: money. Another important takeaway that addresses my problem, and most likely a relevant ...

About me: Noah Hayes

Image
Heya, my name is Noah Hayes, I am 20 years old and am a sophomore on dual enrollment between Linn Benton and OSU. I decided to partake in this course because I am a business major with an emphasis on marketing, and the ideas around the psychology of consumer to advertising interaction is something that is very interesting to me. With this being said it can be inferred that I am most excited to learn about marketing tactics and the advertising language that will assist me in my future career, mainly because I find it interesting, but I also believe it is important knowledge to obtain. Outside of school I am passionate for work and relaxing, though most of my time is probably spent playing video games or on my phone, though since the sun has come out more I have been getting outside more and more. Anyways here's a picture to put a face to the mischief, pardon the dirty mirror.
